“There is a pervasive sense in our culture that creative expression is restricted to an anointed group … the most consistent obstacle to creative discovery is the average person’s reluctance to become involved in free experimentation … When a child makes a picture of a house, freely yielding to the impulses of expression … do we view these images of life as mistaken? More likely we enjoy the picture of the house within the context of the fresh and delightfully expressive world of childhood. Imagine having the same appreciation for your own creations.” – Shaun McNiff, Trust the Process
“A great body of research demonstrates that a variety of creative engagements (the arts) can positively impact … emotions, attitudes and beliefs, contributing to greater health and wellness for the individual.” -Foundation for Art & Healing
Art is not just for artists. Imagine a place you could visit – individually or as part of a community – to explore your own creativity free from fear of judgement or failure. The renowned artist Georgia O’Keefe said, “Whether you succeed or not is irrelevant – there is no such thing. Making your unknown known is the important thing.” This is our vision for Rob’s Hope. A center that offers affordable programs and resources to the whole community, in an environment free from bustle and stress. We envision studio space both for scheduled workshops and walk-in visits, a small library, a garden, a wood shop, space for outdoor events, and more.
Help us make our vision a reality. Join us for a workshop. Share our mission, milestones, and events with your friends and family. And feel free to Give Some Hope.
Rob’s Hope was founded in loving memory of Robert G. Viti.
